As a therapist, HoYeung works with clients to help them better understand themselves and their unique experiences to foster insight, growth and healing. With cultural sensitivity in the forefront of his practice, he is committed in helping clients connect with the present moment, assist them in building distance from their thoughts, emotions, identities, and to support them in their journey to creating a meaningful life in accordance with their values. He strives to build therapeutic relationships that are empathic, trusting and compassionate.
With 10 years of experience as an international recruiter in Hong Kong, advising IT, management consulting and financial services hiring managers and candidates, HoYeung capitalizes on his understanding of how challenging it is to balance a demanding and competitive work life with a healthy and meaningful personal life, and uses this to deliver therapy tailored to the client’s specific circumstances. His approach is integrative and adapted to the client’s needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based approaches. He also integrates narrative, trauma-informed and Eastern perspectives on mental health into his practice.
Outside of work, HoYeung enjoys drawing manga and drawing from life in traditional and digital mediums. HoYeung strives to actively listen and create a space where clients can understand themselves more, and be more understanding towards themselves. HoYeung specializes in (but is not limited to) working with fellow artists, precocious clients who find themselves being chronically responsible, clients with career challenges, and male clients.
His psychotherapy services are offered in English and Cantonese.
