Originally from Toronto, Dr. Jacqueline Gowan earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto, then went on to attend medical school at Ross University, completing her clinical training in downtown Los Angeles. During that time, she assisted in over 100 surgeries, including trauma and emergency cases. She later moved to Chicago for her Family Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center — fun fact: she received her residency acceptance call while at a Maple Leafs game (and they won too!). After residency, she worked as a hospitalist at Holy Cross Hospital, part of the Mount Sinai network, managing multiple medical cases, leading rapid response and critical care teams, and served on the COVID ICU team during the pandemic.
Now back home in Toronto, Dr. Gowan is a board-certified family physician excited to focus on general practice. She thrives in managing complex medical cases but enjoys caring for patients with simple, everyday concerns just as much. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine, and she’s also passionate about incorporating ultrasound and musculoskeletal care into her practice. When she’s not in clinic or the hospital, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and listening to classic rock with her dogs Tango and Pumpkin.
