She is proud to have a role to play in ensuring that her patients are able to perform the activities they love in order to keep themselves active and healthy.
Dr. McAlpine has a special interest in the management of dance-related injuries and injury prevention in performing artists. She developed a screening tool, with Healthy Dancer Canada, to help prevent injuries in dancers and has worked with performers of all ages and skill levels, including providing care for the dancers of Canada's Ballet Jorgen. Additionally, she has an extensive history in working with athletes and sports teams at both the professional and recreational levels, and has significant experience with post concussion rehabilitation and assisting athletes with returning to play after head injuries.
By incorporating lifestyle advice and personalized home-based rehabilitation programs into each chiropractic visit, Dr. McAlpine ensures that her patients leave her care with the tools necessary in order to become active participants in their own health journey. Dr. McAlpine places value on integrated healthcare and believes in a multidisciplinary approach to health and injury recovery.
Dr. McAlpine is a mother of three and when she is not at the clinic, she can be found walking her family Weimaraner, cheering her sons on at their multiple sporting events and teaching ballet to her daughter, who she is hopeful will one day aspire to be a ballerina!
