Iman is a Registered Social Worker who brings warmth, curiosity, and genuine connection to her work with clients. She believes therapy should be a space where people can feel comfortable being themselves, make sense of what they are experiencing, and feel supported as they navigate both the expected and unexpected challenges of life. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in the understanding that there is no single way to experience, process, or move through difficult moments.
Before becoming a social worker, Iman began her career as an educator, where she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of meeting people where they are and understanding the individual within the context of their family, relationships, and environment. Her transition into healthcare and psychosocial oncology further shaped this perspective. Working alongside individuals and families navigating cancer, uncertainty, grief, changing identities, and major life transitions taught her the importance of creating space for both the emotional and practical realities that can accompany difficult periods of life.
Iman draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based and trauma-informed practices. She adapts her approach to each client rather than expecting the client to fit a particular therapeutic model, balancing opportunities for reflection and deeper understanding with practical strategies clients can carry into their everyday lives.
Alongside her clinical work, Iman has been involved in social work research exploring trauma, interpersonal violence, and how individuals disclose and make sense of difficult experiences. Her combined background in education, healthcare, and research has shaped her belief that good therapy requires both evidence and humanity: understanding what research tells us while remaining curious about the individual person sitting across from her.
