Dr. Mary Sco. MD, PhD is a family doctor and nutrition expert. She completed an HBSc, PhD (in Nutritional Sciences) and MD at the University of Toronto.
She pursued her residency in family medicine at Women’s College Hospital and completed additional training at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, Virginia. She is both CCFP(Canadian College of Family Physicians) and ABFM (American Board of Family Medicine)certified.
She has appeared on CBC, CTV, CP24 and TVO. She is regularly interviewed by KCBS radio in San Francisco; and has appeared on Sirius XM’s Doctor Radio, CBC radio and numerous health podcasts. She has been quoted as an expert in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, ABC News Online, Reuters and Daily Mail Online.
She was a national speaker for the American Academy of Family Physicians. She lectures at conferences across North America where she teaches doctors about nutrition. She is also a frequent keynote speaker and guest lecturer both inside and outside of academia.
Her writing has been published in Scientific American, The Toronto Star, The Conversation and Healthy Debate.
Her research has been published in prestigious medical journals including JAMA Internal Medicine and the American Journal of Preventive Medicine. Furthermore, her research has helped influence public policy at Toronto’s City Hall and Queen’s Park.
