Ten years ago, I opened Integra Health with a simple goal: to change the way healthcare is delivered.
We started small - a single clinic, a handful of practitioners, and a big belief that there had to be a better way to care for people. I didn’t know exactly how the journey would unfold, but I knew it needed to be built around the patient, not the system.
A decade later, we’ve grown into a multidisciplinary team, expanded our services, moved into a beautiful new penthouse clinic, and touched thousands of lives and rendered over 1M+ visits. Along the way, I’ve learned more than I ever imagined - about health, about leadership, and about what it really takes to create lasting change.
Here are 10 lessons I’ll carry into our next decade.
Healthcare works best when everyone’s talking to each other - doctors, chiropractors, naturopaths, psychotherapists, and everyone in between. When care is coordinated, patients get better outcomes, faster. I’ve seen it time and again: what feels like a small tweak in communication between providers can completely change a patient’s recovery.
I’ve always believed that if getting the care you need feels like an uphill battle, you’re less likely to follow through. Accessibility isn’t just about location - it’s about hours, booking systems, and making the process frictionless. Even our recent move to the penthouse at the Exchange Tower is more than an address change; it’s a statement about making care central, visible, and easy to reach.
Medical expertise is important, but so is listening. Patients know their bodies and their lives better than anyone. Our role is to understand their goals, lifestyle, and priorities - and then design care around that. The best treatment plans are always collaborative.
The real magic at Integra isn’t me - it’s our people. Every hire over the past decade has shaped who we are. Skills matter, but culture matters more. I’ve learned that building a team of experts who genuinely care for one another creates an environment where patients feel that same care.
Healthcare is changing faster than ever - and we can’t afford to stand still. From integrating new therapies to leveraging technology, innovation isn’t just a buzzword for us, it’s a requirement. Our next chapter is a direct result of that mindset - combining data, technology, and personal care to create a better model.
Staffing shortages, market shifts, personal challenges - we’ve had them all. What’s made the difference is how we’ve responded. Challenges forced us to think differently, adapt quickly, and strengthen our foundations for the long term.
Behind every patient file is a human being with a story. I’ve never stopped feeling the weight and privilege of being trusted with someone’s health. That trust fuels every decision we make, from the services we add to the way we greet someone at the front desk.
Whether it’s a new piece of equipment, a different way of scheduling, or a wellness tip we share in a newsletter - small improvements add up over time. Incremental progress is just as important as big, bold moves.
In the early years, I had my hands in everything. As we’ve grown, I’ve learned to trust others with pieces of the vision - and that letting go doesn’t mean losing control. It means multiplying impact.
If the last decade has taught me anything, it’s that there’s always more to build, more to learn, and more lives to impact. Our 10th year isn’t a finish line - it’s the start of an even bigger, bolder chapter.
As we step into our next decade, my mission hasn’t changed - but my understanding of what it takes has deepened. Healthcare is about people, trust, and connection. It’s about making it easier to get the right care, at the right time, with the right experts.
