Alfred Yau works with individuals navigating relationship challenges, men’s mental health concerns, and those that require an understanding of the corporate environment. He believes therapy should be a space where clients feel both understood and empowered, and he brings a balance of warmth, curiousity, and strategic thinking to each session. Before becoming a therapist, Alfred spent years as an actuary, a profession that honed his skill in identifying patterns and solving complex problems. Now, he applies that same precision to help clients uncover the underlying threads in their emotional and relational lives.
In addition to therapy, Alfred has experience with facilitating men’s groups, creating an open, supportive environment for honest dialogue and personal growth. He blends emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and trauma-informed approaches with cultural awareness and a respect for each person’s unique story. Outside the therapy room, Alfred is an avid tennis player, drawn to the sport’s mix of strategy, focus, and resilience, qualities he also brings to his work with clients.
